Job Summary

The Los Angeles Conservation Corps is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Crew Supervisor to lead a team of young adults in various conservation and service projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in leadership, supervision, and technical skills, with the ability to motivate and develop the skills of program participants.

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of physical activity, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances. The Crew Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of 5-12 program participants, ages 18-24, and will be responsible for the completion of service projects, including trail maintenance, restoration, and park construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of conservation and environmental principles, with experience in leading teams and developing project plans. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of 5-12 program participants in various conservation and service projects
  • Develop and implement project plans, including trail maintenance, restoration, and park construction projects
  • Provide leadership and guidance to program participants, with a focus on developing their skills and abilities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants, with a focus on preventing injuries and illnesses
  • Collaborate with other staff members and stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, conservation biology, or a related field
  • At least 6 months of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with a focus on conservation and environmental projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of conservation and environmental principles, with experience in leading teams and developing project plans
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
