Job Title: Operations Manager at Wanzek Construction

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Wanzek Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and managing daily operations and staff, including reporting, recruiting efforts, and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Direct, review, and manage daily operations and staff to ensure efficient and effective execution of projects.
  • Process Improvement: Monitor processes and budgets to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency.
  • Workforce Planning: Develop a workforce plan to align project needs, identify key employees, and foster employee development.
  • Communication: Interpret operations staffing needs and communicate gaps to senior management effectively.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development: Develop operational policies for safety, performance, and profitability.
  • Metrics Management: Monitor key metrics and develop operational strategies to drive business growth.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets and coordinate materials for ongoing operations.
  • Goal Setting: Establish field goals and benchmarks, resolving related issues.
  • Best Practices: Implement best practices for improved operational efficiency.
  • Workforce Development: Develop workforce plans for projects with key employees and training needs.
  • HR Management: Oversee HR procedures, lead investigations, and provide performance feedback.

Training and Development:

  • Performance Evaluations: Complete Performance Evaluations and manage field supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Performance Management: Complete performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Staff Development: Cross-train staff for versatility between different areas.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications: ASQ or Wanzek's Certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or high-level supervisory experience.
  • Industry Experience: Construction experience is a plus.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
