Department: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND SUSTAINABILITY

A vacancy exists in the Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability, focusing on Watershed Restoration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and execution of stormwater and ecological enhancement projects.
  • Conduct field inspections and oversee construction activities related to stream restoration.
  • Address public inquiries regarding erosion and natural waterway systems.
  • Evaluate riparian areas for potential restoration initiatives.
  • Review and assess design plans and hydraulic models for compliance and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors to ensure project alignment with departmental goals.
  • Engage with community members and regulatory agencies as needed.

Additional Duties:
  • Support fiscal management through cost estimation and scheduling.
  • Represent the department in community engagements and permitting discussions.
  • Contribute to technical studies and report preparation.
  • Draft communications regarding water quality improvement efforts.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Alternatively, a certificate of registration as an Engineer in Training from a U.S. state.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or coursework in civil engineering, water resources, hydrology, and stormwater management.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Possession of a valid driver's license may be required.
