At Besco, we are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Plumber to join our team. With over 130 years of experience in serving the Knoxville and East Tennessee communities, we have established ourselves as a leading provider of plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical piping services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and understand project blueprints and specifications with assistance from site foreman.
  • Coordinate piping system activities, including material list takeoff and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Cut, assemble, and adhere water piping systems in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Cut, assemble, and adhere sanitary, vent, and roof drainage systems, including PVC, cast iron pipe & fittings.
  • Assist helpers to understand job tasks and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Attend weekly safety toolbox talk meetings with foreman and other jobsite employees.
  • Use proper tools and PPE on site to perform assigned job tasks.
  • Assist in maintaining as-built redlined drawings for closeout documents.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Calmly and constructively manage disagreements, conflicts, and crises as required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to use hand tools and operate electric and/or battery powered tools.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. at times.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend step ladders and work from elevated scissor lifts and scaffolding.
Requirements for Success:
  • 5+ years experience in related field and successful completion of apprenticeship.
  • Adept at multitasking in fast paced environment, able to plan, prioritize, and organize individual and helper activities and processes.
  • Able to work independently and across multiple teams and levels within and outside of the organization and take initiative on projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Medical Gas Certification is preferred but not required.
