Job Summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a skilled Machine Operator 2nd Shift to join our team. As a Machine Operator 2nd Shift, you will be responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts.
  • Know and understand all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to set up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts.
  • Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.
  • Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and/or other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
  • Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment.
  • Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation a plus.
  • Required to use power hand tools.
  • Required to drive a forklift.
  • Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a diversified work force.
  • Ability to read different measuring devices (tape measure, protractor, micrometer).

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; sit; bend; stoop; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; lift; climb and/or balance essential tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities include close-up and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
