PCB Layout Engineer for Bitcoin Innovations

We are developing Bitkey, a user-friendly and secure self-custody bitcoin wallet that empowers customers, alongside hardware and software solutions aimed at decentralizing bitcoin mining and fostering innovative applications. Our Bitcoin Products team within Proto is responsible for delivering product strategies, software, firmware, and custom silicon necessary to realize Bitkey and our ambitious mining projects. Key Responsibilities:- Design and release both rigid and flexible printed circuit boards for a range of bitcoin mining and wallet products.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing testing engineers to create hardware for these products.
- Develop and manage schematic, symbol, and footprint libraries, along with design templates.
- Enhance and maintain our component library.
- Ensure compliance of all components with IPC, manufacturer, and company standards.
- Engage with fabrication and assembly vendors regarding Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Work alongside our internal ASIC design team to influence chip and packaging designs that better align with PCB layout requirements.
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB design.
- Proficient in Altium CAD system, including library management and design release processes for high-volume manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret part specifications and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with eCAD database management.
- Familiarity with IPC guidelines and various PCB and FPC technologies.
- Understanding of schematics and basic electronics principles.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) practices and tools such as Agile or Arena.
Preferred:
- Experience with Altium Designer.
- Knowledge of RF and high-speed PCB design with controlled impedances.
- Experience in high power and thermal design techniques.
- Hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering.
- Background in mechanical assembly or fabrication.
- Experience with PCB DFM for high-volume consumer products.
Block adopts a market-based approach to compensation, which may vary based on geographic location. The starting salary for the successful candidate will be determined by relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
