We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Designer to join our team at Square Inc. as a key member of our Bitcoin product team. As a Principal Product Designer, you will play a critical role in defining the role of Bitcoin at Square, leading and executing major product initiatives, and working with other discipline leads to set strategy and nurture a high-performing team.
You will collaborate with other teams in Financial Products and serve as a resource and mentor to other designers across the organization. You will report to our Head of Product Design.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Product Design: Be accountable for the craft of the experiences and interfaces that our customers interact with, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
- Promote Inclusive Environment: Foster an inclusive environment for creativity and growth, and facilitate connections across teams and disciplines to drive innovation and collaboration.
- Strategic Design Decisions: Play a role across the organization and make strategic design decisions as a partner to Business, Product, and Engineering, and be a voice for leveraging design across the organization.
- Technical Expertise: Bring comfort and expertise in technical environments, including knowledge of the mobile client-side development process.
- Design Principles: Help establish and evolve principles, frameworks, standards, and processes for the discipline, ensuring consistency and quality across products.
- Leadership and Influence: Be an influential voice at the leadership level alongside peers in Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Customer Insights, and be an influential consultant and voice across other disciplines, such as Marketing, Customer Support, and People.
- Culture and Diversity: Actively contribute to Design team culture and take ownership for Inclusion & Diversity efforts, ensuring a workplace that values and celebrates diversity.
- Design Leadership: Experience as an influential design leader who delivers impactful, strategic work that moves a business forward.
- Systematic and Visual Eye: A keen systematic and visual eye, and an understanding of how to use creativity to meet team goals.
- Collaboration and Communication: Experience collaborating with leadership to inform product development processes and an understanding of how to solve product challenges across platforms.
- Design Direction: A clear point of view on design direction, an openness to new ideas, and a bias for transparency and communication.
- Passion and Commitment: Passion and commitment to the customer, your teammates, and our mission.
