Position Summary

We are seeking a talented PCB Layout Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge bitcoin mining products. In this role, you will report directly to the Electrical Engineering Lead within the Proto Team, where your expertise will be pivotal in designing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for high-performance mining systems and embedded Linux controllers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and release both rigid and flexible printed circuit layouts for various bitcoin mining and wallet products.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and testing engineers to create reliable hardware solutions.
  • Develop and manage schematic, symbol, and footprint libraries, along with design templates.
  • Enhance and maintain our component library to ensure optimal performance.
  • Review components to ensure compliance with IPC standards and company specifications.
  • Engage with fabrication and assembly vendors to optimize design for manufacturability (DFM).
  • Work alongside our internal ASIC design team to influence chip and packaging designs that align with PCB layout requirements.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB design.
  • Proficiency in the Altium CAD system, including library management and design release processes for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Ability to interpret part specifications and mechanical drawings effectively.
  • Experience with eCAD database management and IPC guidelines.
  • Solid understanding of electronics principles and circuit operation.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) practices and tools such as Agile or Arena.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Altium Designer.
  • Knowledge of RF and high-speed PCB design techniques.
  • Background in high power and thermal design methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with mechanical assembly and fabrication processes.
  • Experience with PCB DFM for consumer products in high volume.
