Responsibilities

The Recreation Therapist will implement a therapeutic recreation program aimed at assisting the rehabilitation of individuals with physical and mental disabilities.

The Activity Therapist will guide patients in engaging in selected activities such as games, social interactions, sports, or music, fostering a sociable atmosphere and encouraging creative expression. This role is crucial in helping patients develop skills for recreation during their hospital stay and after returning to the community.

Additionally, the therapist will create an environment that encourages patients to explore their potential, enhance morale, and alleviate the distress associated with illness.

Qualifications

1. Must be Board Certified in Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, or a related field, with a current and valid state license.
2. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, or a related field is required.
3. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facility settings is preferred.

Encino Hospital Medical Center is dedicated to providing a competitive compensation package that includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation ranging from $21.00 to $27.30. The specific starting compensation will be determined based on various factors, including skillset, years of experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
