Responsibilities
As a Recreation Therapist, you will implement a therapeutic recreation program within the hospital aimed at aiding the rehabilitation of individuals with physical and mental disabilities.
Your role will involve directing patient engagement in various activities such as games, social interactions, sports, or music, fostering a sociable atmosphere, encouraging creative expression, and teaching skills for recreation during hospitalization and post-discharge in the community.
You will create an environment that enables patients to discover their potential, build positive morale, and alleviate the distress associated with illness.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Board Certification in Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, or a related field, along with a current and valid state license.
2. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, or a related field.
3. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in Behavioral Healthcare, rehabilitative settings, or Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) is preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which encompasses estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, ranges from $21.00 to $27.30 per hour.
The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of hiring, considering various factors such as skillset, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
