Justice Project Lawyer, Reentry and Systemic Reform

The Legal Aid Society of DC is dedicated to providing high-quality legal services to low-income individuals and families. Job Description
As a Staff Attorney, you will be responsible for providing holistic advocacy to individuals impacted by the legal system. This includes maintaining an active caseload of criminal record relief matters, engaging in advocacy efforts and casework to address the collateral consequences of involvement in the legal system, and working with clients and community-based groups to identify obstacles to successful reentry. You will also collaborate with the Systemic Advocacy Program team to elevate identified reentry issues and engage in reentry-related appeals, impact litigation, or policy-related legislative and budget advocacy. Additionally, you will provide mentorship to pro bono attorneys handling criminal record relief matters.
What We Offer
This position offers a competitive salary range of $71,054 - $85,852 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide a generous benefits package, including fully paid health insurance, annual retirement match, 13 paid holidays, 20 days of annual leave per year, and 15 days of sick leave per year.
