Position Summary

The Media Production Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Media Manager in overseeing the Sunday morning media initiatives. This position is responsible for directing livestream broadcasts and collaborating with both paid personnel and volunteers. The aim is to ensure high-quality video production for the church's Sunday services. This is a non-exempt role requiring approximately 5 hours of work each Sunday morning, reporting directly to the Media Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Livestream Management

  1. Operate video equipment professionally to deliver high-quality livestreams for church services.
  2. Ensure the correct setup and functioning of various video and related equipment.
  3. Provide guidance to both paid staff and volunteers during the livestream sessions.
  4. Coordinate the livestream team to achieve a seamless blend of camera perspectives and graphic overlays.
  5. Assist in the Sunday morning preparations involving additional cameras and livestream-specific gear.
  6. Consult with the media manager or event leader to confirm that all video and visual requirements are fulfilled.

Equipment Oversight

  1. Maintain an organized inventory of all media equipment, ensuring it is operational and readily accessible.
  2. Identify and troubleshoot any issues with media equipment as they occur, reporting findings to the media manager.
  3. Conduct pre-event testing and maintenance checks to prevent equipment malfunctions.
  4. Evaluate current and future equipment needs in collaboration with the media manager.

Leadership Duties

Supervise camera operators and graphics personnel during the Sunday morning livestreams.

Qualifications

Education:

· A Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a media trade school is preferred. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience:

· One to two years of experience in directing livestream video is required.

Skills:

  • Proficient understanding of live video production techniques.
  • Familiarity with livestreaming equipment, methodologies, and protocols.
  • Knowledge of various video equipment brands, including Blackmagic and Canon.
  • Understanding of basic lighting techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
