Media Production Specialist

Job Summary

As a Media Production Specialist at Houston Community College, you will play a crucial role in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of production activities. This includes assisting in the creation of local, network, or independent television production, as well as coordinating with the Floor Manager, Unit Manager, Producer, or Director to schedule and set up TV programming.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of production activities
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure smooth execution of TV programming
  • Prepare and distribute daily shooting schedules
  • Notify the crew of script changes and production arrangements
  • Record production shot sheets and assist in the setting up, lighting, and striking of the set
  • Assist in the research, development, and coordination of program scripts
  • Collect materials and supplies upon completion of a production

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of experience in theater, photography, or film preferred
  • Familiarity with camera operation, audio production, linear and non-linear editing, and studio and field lighting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer graphic systems (Adobe, Photoshop)
  • Excellent time management and logistics skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
