About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Temporary Payroll Analyst to join our team at Columbia University. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, reporting, and tracking of student hires and academic appointments within the Department of Computer Science in the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS).

This is a temporary, full-time position that will last for six months. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent, with a minimum of one to two years of experience in payroll analysis or related fields. You should possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and strong proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Main Responsibilities
  • Packaging/Onboarding Student Hires & Appointments: Create DocuSign packages, provide guidance, and coordinate directly with students to collect necessary clearances, forms, and documents for initial and successive appointments.
  • Reporting & Reconciliation: Download reports from MICE, ARC, and PAC to update and reconcile the central departmental Google Sheet hiring tracker, ensuring data accuracy for general departmental use.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent, with a preference for training in higher education management.
  • Minimum one to two years of related experience required in a payroll analyst role and/or payroll onboarding-related experience.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational, and written- and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The estimated annual salary for this role is between $62,400 and $65,000, depending on your qualifications and experience.
