Job Description

Bonnell Aluminum is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and controls to optimize production efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems and controls to meet production requirements
  • Implement and maintain existing controls and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical systems and controls
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine problems and implement solutions
  • Provide technical assistance and support to internal customers
  • Manage vendor relationships and define performance metrics
System Design and Development:

As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and controls to meet production requirements. This includes:

  • Optimizing the layout, design, and placement of devices and equipment
  • Developing and implementing electrical drawings and specifications
  • Compiling bills of material and preparing process control and standard work descriptions
System Testing and Maintenance:

You will also be responsible for testing and maintaining existing controls and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. This includes:

  • Testing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
  • Maintaining existing controls and ensuring they work safely and efficiently
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 3-5+ years of proven experience in controls programming and engineering
  • 3+ years of Auto-CAD/drawing experience
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
  • Proven history of innovative solutions and successful projects
