Job Summary

An Electrical Controls Engineering Technician is needed for a manufacturing company in the Wilmington, NC area.

The role focuses on designing and modifying mechanical equipment using CAD software while providing hands-on installation support and troubleshooting in production environments.

Responsibilities
  • Redesign mechanical components to reduce installation costs, solve equipment interferences, and correct inadequate designs.
  • Create, review, and update installation documentation and drawings as required.
  • Execute design changes to solve equipment/process issues.
  • Provide sketches or marked-up drawings as needed for project and equipment modifications.
Requirements
  • AAS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or BS in Mechanical Engineering (equivalent work experience may be considered in rare circumstances).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to varied job requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work well in small teams.
  • Understanding and experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Proficiency with pneumatic and electrical schematics.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical drive trains and electrical/pneumatic actuators.
