Job Title: Electrical Controls Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team at Compunnel. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and documentation of electrical systems for production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on installation support for new or modified production equipment.
  • Supervise and direct internal maintenance and outside contractors during equipment installation and conversion processes.
  • Troubleshoot and document Electrical and Controls Systems, ensuring successful start-up and operation of new equipment.
  • Modify and complete documentation, including drawing packages, installation checklists, and machine specifications.
  • Assess existing equipment for compatibility with new installations.
  • Provide second-level troubleshooting support and coordinate the replacement of defective components.
  • Procure and expedite materials for new or modified equipment.
  • Develop and oversee electrical installation checklists and schedules.
  • Prepare work orders and direct maintenance personnel in equipment assembly, testing, and installation.
  • Train internal maintenance staff and outside contractors on new installation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: AAS or BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in hands-on electrical installation and troubleshooting in a production environment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills; knowledge of motion control systems and serial communications.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, results-oriented, well-organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a team setting.

Additional Information:

  • This role will primarily be based on the production floor.
  • Strong practical hands-on aptitude and mechanical skills are essential.
  • Flexibility for occasional travel to other plants in NC as needed.
  • Expected hours may vary, with opportunities for overtime.
