Position Overview:

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer specializing in Data to join our dynamic data engineering team. This role involves the development of data pipelines, integrations, and data products tailored to meet various operational and analytical needs.

The Sr. Software Engineer will collaborate with engineers, architects, analysts, and product managers to create scalable and sustainable solutions. This position entails working on moderately complex technical assignments that require significant judgment and initiative. The engineer will be expected to understand the implications of their work and provide recommendations for effective solutions, typically operating with minimal supervision on daily tasks and general guidance on new assignments.



Key Responsibilities:
Technical Engineering Skills: This team utilizes an Azure + Databricks Lakehouse environment.

Required Technical Skills:
  • Experience in cloud data engineering, including data orchestration with tools like Azure Data Factory and data storage solutions such as Azure Data Lake.
  • Proficiency in SQL (TSQL, PostGresSQL, etc.) and familiarity with Spark, including the ability to develop ETL processes using PySpark and SparkSQL.
  • Experience with shell scripting and proficiency in data exchange/storage formats like parquet.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and standard DevOps practices.
  • Deep understanding of indexing and partitioning, with the ability to optimize data engineering code for performance.
  • Knowledge of distributed cloud computing concepts such as fault tolerance and service-oriented architecture (SOA).

Leadership & Collaboration Skills: This role is part of a broader, cross-functional organization that includes various roles and experience levels.

  • Document system designs and business requirements for managerial review.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Work Experience:
4-7 years of technical engineering experience (required).

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $108,200 - $195,300.

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%. The actual pay will depend on various factors, including work location, qualifications, and experience.
