Position Overview


Utilizes academic knowledge and practical experience to spearhead the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software applications using languages such as C#, Java, Python, and/or PHP.

Possesses knowledge in architecting, implementing, and deploying cloud-native solutions, leveraging container orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, along with a solid understanding of application architectures, particularly microservices.


Collaborates with product owners, project managers, and fellow software engineers to analyze requirements, design effective solutions, and implement code that aligns with system performance objectives. Develops, tests, and documents robust code while supporting a continuous integration and continuous development pipeline.

Adheres to governmental directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria regarding software safety and systems safety. Ensures that design mitigations are documented and verifies their implementation.

Key Focus Areas:
Development of web-based applications and cybersecurity tools.

  • Engage with Software Engineering, DevOps, and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify user requirements and define solutions within the problem domain.
  • Assist in the architecture and design processes.

Feature Development:

Integrate APIs, configure software packages, conduct unit testing, and prepare applications for production; provide operational and maintenance support for existing applications (enhancements and patches).


  • Aid in formulating deployment strategies, including software deployment checklists and quality assurance measures.
  • Implement DevSecOps best practices to facilitate software promotion within the CI/CD pipeline for continuous Authorization to Operate (ATO).
  • Execute, test, and manage advanced software security techniques in accordance with technical reference architecture.
  • Conduct ongoing security assessments and code reviews to enhance software security.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Develop familiarity with emerging cybersecurity software, tools, and best practices.
  • Must possess an active Secret level clearance.
Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in developing front-end web applications.
  • Background in backend/API development.
  • Active Secret level clearance.
  • 0 years of experience with a BS/BA; 4 years of experience without a degree.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in architecting, implementing, and deploying cloud-native solutions.
  • Familiarity with containerized development environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficient in using GitLab CI/CD for automated testing and cloud deployments via Helm.
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL database modeling and administration.

Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
