Position Overview

Maplecrest Ford Lincoln is seeking a dedicated Used Car Manager to oversee our pre-owned vehicle department. This role is pivotal in establishing departmental objectives, fostering strong relationships, managing budgets, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the sales team, driving them towards achieving sales targets.
  • Assign sales territories and report on performance metrics to senior management.
  • Mentor junior sales staff, enhancing their skills and knowledge in automotive sales.
  • Conduct daily reviews of inventory and leads, ensuring optimal management of used car stock.
  • Establish appraisal standards and perform vehicle appraisals effectively.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and develop strategies for vehicle acquisition.
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding trade-in vehicles and sales strategies.
  • Support the sales team in closing deals and building customer relationships.
  • Utilize industry software and CRM tools for inventory management.
  • Set sales objectives and gross profit targets for daily operations.
  • Organize and lead sales meetings, providing training and guidance to the sales force.
  • Ensure all vehicles are presentable and ready for sale, maintaining high standards.
  • Review and approve sales contracts, assisting in the closing process.
  • Evaluate advertising and promotional strategies with the sales team.
  • Prepare operational forecasts to guide daily activities.
  • Continuously support the sales team with resources to enhance their automotive knowledge, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of experience in automotive sales.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales goals and enhancing profitability.
  • At least one year of experience in used vehicle sales with comprehensive vehicle knowledge.
  • Three years of experience managing dealership inventory.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, representing the company effectively.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, fostering trust and satisfaction.
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Receptive to feedback for personal and professional growth.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and multitasking.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace with attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
