Role Responsibilities

The Colleges are looking for a part-time faculty member specializing in Distance Education. The preferred candidate will align with the Colleges' mission to educate a diverse student body.

  • Facilitate the creation of initiatives supporting distance education courses and programs.
  • Provide guidance in promoting effective pedagogical strategies for distance education.
  • Lead efforts to ensure the College's distance education offerings meet accreditation standards.
  • Oversee the coordination of distance education courses and programs.
  • Engage in regular consultations with academic deans and directors.
  • Attend committee meetings consistently.
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Offer recommendations for enhancing distance education-related websites.
  • Prepare and contribute to necessary reports.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Student Equity & Support Programs Division.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in online or hybrid instruction.
  • At least three years of leadership experience in online educational development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to manage the development of innovative educational programs and services.
  • Proficient in operating office technology and software.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Capable of establishing realistic program objectives.
  • Adept at analyzing situations accurately.
  • Knowledgeable about relevant laws and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in preparing detailed reports.
  • Proficient in utilizing computer systems and software.
  • Able to identify and address faculty concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience engaging with diverse student populations.
  • Willingness to reflect on and improve instructional practices.
  • Experience in culturally responsive teaching methodologies.
  • Understanding of compliance regulations in education.
  • Background in instructional technology support.
