Critical Care Specialist

As a Critical Care Specialist with the United States Air Force, you will play a vital role in providing expert and prompt nursing care to Airmen and their families in severe medical situations. Your expertise can make a life-saving difference. To excel in this position, you will need a bachelor's or master's degree in nursing from an accredited school, along with a minimum of 12 months of full-time nursing practice and completion of Officer Training School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the Intensive Care Unit
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in critical care nursing
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing from an NLN or CCNE accredited school
- Knowledge of nursing principles and practices
- Minimum 12 months of full-time nursing practice
- At least 6 months of practice in the Intensive Care Unit specialty
- Completion of Officer Training School course
- Age between 18 and not reached 47th birthday
