Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Transition Program at HCA Florida Englewood Hospital equips you with the necessary tools to thrive in a modern healthcare setting. This compensated program will facilitate your transition from academic learning to practical application through a structured series of educational experiences, including:

  • Specialized clinical training in a chosen area.
  • Monthly educational workshops.
  • Preceptorship with an experienced facility mentor.
  • Skills assessment through practical simulations.
  • Guidance from seasoned nursing leaders.
  • Collaborative work on evidence-based practice initiatives.

The RN Resident is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care in alignment with departmental requirements and professional standards. Collaborating with medical professionals and other care team members, the RN Resident provides personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing frameworks such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN Resident advocates for patients, families, and caregivers to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Evaluating patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in status.
  • Executing procedures and monitoring as directed by medical providers, ensuring thorough documentation of care in patient records.
  • Administering prescribed medications and monitoring patients for therapeutic responses, intervening as necessary.
  • Delivering outstanding care by promptly addressing patient requests and proactively anticipating needs.
  • Educating patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up measures, ensuring clear understanding.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within one year of employment.
  • Other certifications may be required during employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License or eligibility as a Graduate Nurse in the state.
  • No prior experience is necessary.
  • Some travel may be required for training purposes.
