About the Role


Under the general supervision of the Center Manager, the Clinical Nurse Specialist delivers expert nursing care through comprehensive assessment, strategic planning, treatment implementation, and patient evaluation.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist is dedicated to providing safe, informed, compassionate, and personalized nursing care to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient assessments, including but not limited to: reviewing medical histories, obtaining necessary consents, measuring vital signs, initiating IVs, administering medications, and preparing monitoring equipment.
  • Aids in alleviating patient anxiety prior to and during the administration of IV sedation or anesthesia.
  • Ensures that all essential medical equipment is operational on a daily basis.
  • Confirms patient identity and correct procedural interventions in accordance with established protocols, communicating this information to all surgical team members.
  • Monitors and evaluates patients before, during, and after all phases of care, demonstrating proficiency with all monitoring devices.
  • Accurately documents patient care records and other necessary forms in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Safely transports and positions patients while adhering to policies, safety protocols, and patient requirements.
  • Upholds patient safety and maintains a clean, organized environment throughout the facility.
  • Executes the role of circulating nurse according to approved operating room procedures to meet the demands of scheduled operations.
  • Performs Conscious Sedation functions in accordance with state regulations upon successful completion of training and competency validation.
  • Assembles and ensures the availability of properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments prior to the commencement of procedures, adjusting equipment as necessary during the procedure.
  • Assists physicians during all procedures.
About the Candidate

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse license in Florida or a compact state without restrictions.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a surgical or procedural healthcare environment.
  • Experience in critical care, emergency room, or recovery settings.
  • Endoscopy experience is highly desirable.
