Position Overview
This role involves planning and instructing swimming lessons for individuals of all ages. You will conduct water safety training in both individual and group settings, ensuring the safety of all participants by proactively preventing and addressing emergencies. Additionally, you will manage scheduling and timekeeping responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement effective swim lesson plans for participants.
  • Uphold all aquatic facility regulations and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as mandated by regulatory bodies.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and ensure the safety of all patrons.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Education: Must be at least 15 years old and currently enrolled in high school.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in teaching swim lessons, with a solid understanding of facility operations and safety protocols.
  • Certifications: Required certification as a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) from the American Red Cross or three years of competitive swimming experience. CPR certification for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in computer applications for data entry and patient information management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety practices.
  • Exceptional customer service and public relations skills.
  • Strong decision-making abilities.

Physical and Environmental Requirements
This position requires the ability to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting weights ranging from 20 to 50 pounds occasionally. The role may involve frequent walking, standing, and manual dexterity tasks. While the position does not typically involve exposure to blood or bodily fluids, there may be some risk associated with hazardous materials within the healthcare environment.
