Job Summary

Ochsner Fitness Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the facility to prevent emergency situations and respond effectively in emergencies.
  • Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Complete records and reports as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in regular in-service training programs to maintain and improve skills.
  • Inspect the facility daily and report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the supervisor.
  • Exercise regularly to maintain fitness level and follow all safety protocols.
Requirements
  • At least 15 years of age and enrolled in High School.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
  • Certification in Lifeguard Training and First Aid from a recognized organization.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The incumbent must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, and have manual dexterity.
