Position Overview

The role involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of assigned facilities and their surroundings through the effective use of cleaning tools and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform floor maintenance including sweeping, mopping, and waxing; manage carpet cleaning and vacuuming;
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces; ensure waste receptacles are emptied and cleaned; wash windows and walls;
  • Sanitize restrooms and restock necessary supplies;
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and materials, including both manual tools and automated machinery;
  • Care for adjacent paved and landscaped areas;
  • Conduct minor repairs such as clearing drains and fixing faucets;
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery as required;
  • Clear debris and litter from public spaces;
  • Prepare rooms for events and meetings;
  • Engage with visitors and patrons as needed;
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Completion of the tenth grade and one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience that meets the following criteria:

Physical examination required.
Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of:
  • Methods and equipment utilized in janitorial services.
Skills to:
  • Effectively operate cleaning machines including buffers, shampooers, vacuums, and other related tools;
  • Communicate clearly and effectively;
  • Follow both verbal and written instructions.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly lift up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds;
  • Frequently carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds;
  • Stand and walk for extended periods;
  • Occasionally bend and kneel;
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and other elevated surfaces as necessary;
  • Continuously maintain forward flexion of the upper body and partial knee flexion;
  • Occasionally rotate the upper body while sitting or standing;
  • Reach above, at, or below shoulder height regularly;
  • Push and pull objects frequently.
