Career Ambassador Opportunities

The Office of Career Solutions and Corporate Engagement in the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University is seeking candidates for Part-Time Career Ambassador positions. These part-time, student positions will have multifaceted responsibilities in the following areas:

Career Services Support
  • Assist students with resume reviews, career planning, and job search strategies.

Event Assistance
  • Career-related workshops, career fairs, and tabling events.
  • Potential to participate in classroom presentations.

Student Engagement and Outreach
  • Assist in marketing content to engage students.

Administrative and Strategic Support
  • Data collection and entry.


This is a part-time position working up to 10 hours per week with a starting rate of $15/hour. Work hours take place between 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. on weekdays with some evening or weekend hours to assist with special events. Candidates must submit a cover letter and resume.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in the College of IST.
  • Previous internship/co-op/research experience.
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in leadership roles, event planning, or peer mentoring.
  • Understanding of the mechanisms that Penn State provides to connect students to potential employers.


Candidates must be available to work possible weekends. Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

Campus Security Crime Statistics

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here.
