Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Lean Transformation: Oversee the implementation of lean principles within the estimating and operations teams to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Evaluate Project Plans: Analyze project plans and specifications to ensure accurate cost estimates and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to improve the bid process and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Evaluate Suppliers and Subcontractors: Assess suppliers and subcontractors to maintain competitive pricing and service levels.
  • Monitor Project Costs: Track project costs throughout the construction phases to achieve the best financial results.
  • Provide Guidance on Pricing Strategies: Offer expertise on pricing strategies and value engineering opportunities to improve project profitability.
  • Local Travel Required: Travel between offices throughout Southern California to support team members and clients.
Qualification Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Possess proven experience in construction estimating, cost control, and finance analytics.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical and financial skills utilizing pivot tables and databases.
  • Lean Operations Experience: Have proven experience in lean operations and continuous improvement implementation.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills to build and lead a high-performing estimating team.
  • Business Intelligence Tools: Have experience using business intelligence tools for data visualization and analysis.
  • Requirements Development: Be able to develop requirements and formulate business metrics within a standard operating procedure (SOP).
  • Contract Knowledge: Possess knowledge of contract terms and conditions to support estimating teams.
  • Education: Hold a Bachelor's degree in management, statistics, finance, construction, or a related field.
