At Thyssenkrupp Elevator, we recognize that the key to workplace safety is YOU. We are currently in search of a skilled Modernization Operations Leader to oversee our modernization operations in a dynamic environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all modernization processes, personnel, and projects are managed effectively to achieve profitability and meet budgetary goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of modernization superintendents and staff, providing guidance, training, and clear communication of company policies and objectives.
  • Implement and manage the company’s safety initiatives, conducting weekly safety audits and emphasizing the significance of safety practices among all team members.
  • Plan and prioritize elevator modernization projects, assessing manpower requirements and utilizing project management tools for efficient scheduling.
  • Analyze accounting reports to monitor job progress, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee job sites from initial survey through to project completion, ensuring documentation of progress and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Coordinate subcontractor schedules and performance on comprehensive projects.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, elevator consultants, construction firms, and architects.
  • Review and approve all project bids, participating in pre-bid meetings to provide technical insights for labor and material cost estimations.
  • Manage change orders, purchase orders, and necessary approvals related to project finances.
  • Stay informed about federal, state, and local elevator industry regulations and standards.
  • Enhance knowledge of company procedures and products through ongoing training and engagement with corporate departments.
  • Resolve complaints and issues from both external and internal customers, including liaising with local business representatives regarding union matters.
  • Determine material requirements for project completion and coordinate subcontracting for installation tasks.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety, project activities, and employee progress, documenting findings for future reference.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is between $140,000 and $160,000, complemented by a car allowance, fuel card, and an incentive program with bi-annual payouts. Our benefits package includes health insurance, parental leave, wellness programs, 401K, vacation and holiday pay, tuition assistance, and complimentary life and disability insurance.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is preferred, although extensive industry experience may be considered. Candidates should possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report. A thorough understanding of the elevator industry and effective management practices is essential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, data analysis skills, and the capacity to interpret complex technical instructions.
