About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Data Operations engineering team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable distributed systems that enable our machine learning data annotation program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define vision and strategic plans for our data operations engineering team
  • Own multi-functional and cross-organizational programs as the directly responsible individual
  • Partner with leaders and engineers to influence and define execution plans
  • Foster a collaborative culture of excellence within the Data Operations Engineering team and across Apple
  • Design and evaluate software and infrastructure architectures
  • Create prototypes and/or proof of concepts to demonstrate proposed solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical leaders
  • Research industry landscape and technology developments
  • Author technical reports and presentations
  • Present to audiences at varying levels of the organization
Requirements
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a focus on user experience
  • Experience leading and delivering complex projects with multiple cross-functional technical and business collaborators
  • 7+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining Unix-based, scalable distributed or cloud-based business systems
  • Ability to make software that meets functional requirements with a great user experience
  • Experience mentoring other software engineers
  • Enjoys learning new skills and technologies
  • Experience with a modern object-oriented language such as Python, Go, Java, Javascript, Rust, Swift, or Objective-C
  • Experience writing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests, and using continuous integration systems
  • Bachelors or greater in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptional candidates may have experience with one or more of the following: Agile software development processes, parallel distributed computing systems, more than one modern programming language, databases, SQL skills, Infrastructure as Code orchestration systems
