Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the development and implementation of quality systems and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. This includes developing and maintaining quality policies, procedures, and standards, as well as conducting audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to improve product quality and reduce defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Develop and maintain quality metrics and reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, electrical, physics, or other sciences.
- 10 years of experience in quality assurance, operations, engineering, product support, and/or customer-related experience.
- Thorough understanding of problem-solving methods, including Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and associated statistical tools.
- Familiarity with defect prevention plans, process variation reduction concepts, and product reliability.
- Ability to work with a cross-functional team and lead projects.
- Open-minded, collaborative, self-starter with a change agent mentality.
- Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously, managing urgent and important priorities.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, APQP, and quality systems in automotive, aerospace, or medical device fields.
- Professional certification in quality (ASQ), lean, and Six Sigma methodology preferred.
People Manager
- Provide leadership, coaching, and managerial processes that utilize Axcelis' values, attributes, and behaviors to drive and develop optimal performance of the team and each individual team member.
- Utilize clear job descriptions and performance management planning and evaluation to foster continuous improvement.
- In conjunction with Human Resources, responsible for the hiring, performance improvement, and termination of employees.
