Maintenance Operations Manager

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee and coordinate a team of skilled mechanics to maintain and repair equipment throughout the bakery. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. The Supervisor must be able to organize schedules and divide tasks among the team based on individual knowledge, experience, and skill set.
Key Responsibilities:- Assign Work Orders: Assign tasks to the maintenance crew based on individual knowledge, experience, and skill set.
- Provide Training: Train mechanics on the proper use of equipment and facilities when necessary.
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead a team to identify and resolve equipment issues and breakdowns to prevent recurrence.
- Performance Reviews: Complete performance reviews, set goals, and develop training schedules as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understand and adhere to governmental regulatory programs and policies, including National Electrical Code, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Uniform Building Code (UBC), and local government environmental agency policies.
- Safety Procedures: Practice and comply with all bakery and maintenance department safety procedures, including Lock-Out-Tag-Out, Arc Flash, and Hot Work Permits.
- Good Manufacturing Practices: Follow all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's) for Carolina Foods.
- Technical Documentation: Understand and interpret technical documents and diagrams, including equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, Single Line Electrical Drawings, mechanical and electrical equipment schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), etc.
- Maintenance Inspections: Inspect machines, develop repair lists, and identify short-term and long-term repairs to ensure equipment runs correctly.
The Maintenance Supervisor must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, climb, bend, stoop, and kneel to move and work around equipment. The ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds and work in an environment with high temperatures, humidity, loud equipment, and slippery surfaces is required.
Education and Experience:- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Preferred qualifications include 5-7 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, 3-5 years of supervising experience, and 2 years of electrical experience. Mechanical or electrical certifications/licenses are also preferred.
