Job Overview

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of assets, implementing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks for plant equipment, ensuring CCL has the best physical resources available to complete our duties according to the budget. This includes installation and decommissioning of equipment, repairs, and upgrades to machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
  • Monitor electrical and hydraulic systems of facilities to ensure functionality.
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.
  • Drive Maintenance and Reliability initiatives focused on Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, not reactive.
  • Manage, maintain, and establish maintenance procedures for production equipment to ensure production meets or performs better than budget.
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.
  • Coordinate OEM equipment assessments and acquisition and provide project management assistance with execution of equipment improvements through initiation, planning, and closure.
  • Ensure the maintenance department maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Controls downtime by informing the production team of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Oversees the fabrication of repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations.
  • Allocate workload and supervise the janitorial staff for the facility.
  • Perform other duties by coordinating work with outside inspections, providing project management, ensuring safety of personnel, and performing other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years prior experience working as a maintenance manager or in a related role with direct reports.
  • Experience creating and maintaining budgets, maintenance schedules, and reporting.
  • Experience planning maintenance operations.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite and CMMS) and a solid understanding of data analysis software.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
