Job Summary

The Instructional Assistant will support classroom teachers in providing a high-quality, personalized education program for students. The ideal candidate for this position is a recent college graduate who has an interest in pursuing a career as an educator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Support: Assist classroom teachers in managing student behavior, developing and implementing lesson plans, and assessing student progress.
  • Collaboration: Work with Aspire team members to improve instructional practices, share best practices, and provide regular and timely information to students and their families.
  • Student Support: Identify unique student needs, collaborate with other team members and outside service providers to diagnose and address learning challenges, and provide differentiated instruction for students with varying needs.
  • Professional Development: Actively participate in professional development activities, including training sessions and working with lead teachers, principals, and instructional coaches.
  • Career Development: Work towards a career as an educator, which may include enrolling in a teacher credential program.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or successful completion of 2 years of college experience. Bachelor's degree in Education, Teaching, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant is preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles, ability to implement Aspire Instructional Guidelines and Best Practices, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
