ACTS-Aviation Security Inc. is actively seeking an Aviation Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of passengers, visitors, and staff at a major international airport. This position operates on the 2nd Shift, typically from 1 PM to 9:30 PM.

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Aviation Security Officer is to uphold the safety of the public and employees in accordance with TSA and airport regulations. This role requires adherence to ACTS-Airport Services' commitment to quality service and compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.

The Aviation Security Officer will be tasked with a variety of essential duties, including but not limited to:

  • Regulating access to restricted airport areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
  • Conducting screenings and logging individuals and vehicles entering secured zones.
  • Performing vehicle inspections at access points to secure areas.
  • Monitoring exit lanes from sterile to public areas of the airport.
  • Patrolling public spaces within the terminal and responding to security incidents.
  • Conducting patrols of parking facilities.
  • Responding to emergencies and incidents as they arise.
  • Providing assistance to passengers as needed.
  • Documenting incidents and preparing reports related to security and operational issues.
  • Reporting safety concerns and unusual occurrences both verbally and in writing.
  • Managing security challenges and emergency situations effectively.
  • Engaging in ongoing security and safety training to enhance career advancement opportunities.
  • Participating in specialized training programs to ensure the highest level of service.
  • Meeting all applicable state and local licensing requirements for Aviation Security Officers.
  • Familiarizing oneself with airport-specific operational manuals and directives.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary.
  • A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in contract security, military, or law enforcement.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
  • Ability to pass a Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Record Check as mandated by the TSA.
  • Possession of a valid North Carolina Security License is essential.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required for effective communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Capability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to manage typical and crisis situations efficiently.
  • Physical capability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Salary: $20.60 per hour
