Job Summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Security Supervisor to oversee the implementation of security requirements at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, supervise, and participate in airport security and incident response activities
  • Oversee the work of Access Control Officers, Security Operations Officers, and Airport Credentialing Officers
  • Conduct investigations and audits to ensure compliance with security regulations and procedures
  • Provide assistance to tenants, contractors, and the traveling public
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with emergency response, law enforcement, and internal personnel

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent and seven years related work experience
  • Associate's degree and five years related work experience
  • Bachelor's level degree and three years related work experience
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 139 regulations
  • Ability to effectively utilize a standard desktop computer and common software functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster effective working relationships
