POSITION SUMMARY

Michael Baker International is in search of a seasoned aviation civil engineer/project manager to lead and manage the planning, design, and construction efforts for a variety of airport clients. This role is pivotal within the Charlotte office and the Mid-Atlantic aviation sector. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with regional aviation leadership to enhance the aviation practice in Charlotte, emphasizing project excellence, client relations, team recruitment, and strategic business development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engage in programming, design, and construction engineering for aviation projects across the Mid-Atlantic Region.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the geometric layout of airfield facilities, including aprons, roadways, and parking areas.
  • Conduct hydraulic design for infrastructure projects, focusing on stormwater management systems such as sewers, culverts, and erosion control measures.
  • Develop comprehensive construction plans and specifications for both airside and landside projects.
  • Utilize experience in airfield reconstruction, baggage operations, and security facilities to enhance project delivery.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates, reports, and client presentations, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and the pursuit of new business opportunities while maintaining high standards of project quality and safety.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in aviation and aviation engineering is essential.
  • Preferred NC Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are crucial for success in this role.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and subconsultants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software is necessary.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

COMPENSATION
The estimated compensation range for this position is between $93,844 and $135,504, reflecting a good faith estimate based on qualifications, experience, and location.
