Job Summary:

Johnson Controls International is seeking a skilled Fire Service Technician III - Installation and Service to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing installed fire alarm and security systems, including panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, and system testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair installed fire alarm and security systems, including panel repair and reprogramming, device replacement and repair, and system testing.
  • Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Provide excellent written and verbal communication and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels.
  • Work with CCTV and IT and IP networks.
  • Complete and submit all required task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Work on-call and after-hours as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years' experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems (preferred not required).
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Good working knowledge of computers.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Retain any licenses that are required by National, State, and Local codes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical training preferred.
  • NICET II preferred.

Pay and Benefits:

$38.50 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.

Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
