Job Summary
Intertek is seeking a skilled Fire Apparatus Test Technician to join our Building & Construction team in York, PA. As a Fire Apparatus Test Technician, you will be responsible for testing and inspecting fire apparatus and equipment to ensure compliance with NFPA standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in mobile fire apparatus testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test and inspect fire hose, ground ladders, apparatus-mounted and portable pumps, and hose appliances and nozzles
  • Perform standardized pump inspections and testing in accordance with NFPA 1911 Chapter 21
  • Generate detailed reports for NFPA 1962 hose testing, NFPA 1932 ground ladder testing, and NFPA 1911 Chapter 21 pump tests

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; firefighting background and certificates preferred
  • Current or past firefighting experience preferred, with a focus on engine operations, pump operations, and essentials of firefighting
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and work outdoors for long durations
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record required
