Key Responsibilities
  • Apply fundamental principles of Chemical Engineering to effectively address and resolve technical challenges.
  • Conduct evaluations including heat exchanger ratings, hydraulic assessments, relief calculations, and distillation column analyses.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in developing P&IDs, sizing vessels, lines, heat exchangers, and pumps.
  • Prepare specifications for pumps, heat exchangers, steam traps, instruments, and other essential equipment through detailed data sheet creation.
  • Specify pressure relief devices (PRDs) while ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Document process studies, designs, and evaluations through the issuance of process letters.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and collaborate with the Technology Leader to integrate them into the Unit Technology Plan.
  • Conduct hazard identification processes (FMEA, What If, HAZOP) and manage risks through the application of LOPA for process modifications.
  • Facilitate or participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
  • Collaborate effectively with various disciplines (e.g., Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Global Process Technology, Process Control, Projects) during the execution of unit modifications and capital projects.
  • Manage multiple priorities concurrently, balancing daily operational support with various projects or assignments.
  • Engage in the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Lead and participate in root cause analyses (RCAs).
  • Assist in tracking Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and escalate emerging issues to the Technology Leader.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for unit operations.
  • Support unit startups, shutdowns, and turnarounds.
  • Mentor and guide junior process engineers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical engineering capacity.
  • Strong communication skills.
