We are looking for a skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to become a vital part of our dedicated Finance team.

This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced professional with a solid foundation in accounting, budgeting, and ledger management.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of leading financial operations and influencing business strategies.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily functions of our accounting department, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with legal standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the general ledger and the preparation of financial statements.
  • Produce and maintain timely and accurate financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations including Charitable Status, Sales Tax, Income Tax, and Employer Health Tax.
  • Prepare documentation for the annual audit and collaborate with the Audit Committee and external auditors as required.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records for all financial transactions.
  • Establish and enforce policies and procedures to safeguard personnel and financial information in compliance with current legislation.
  • Oversee the acquisition of capital assets, ensuring proper recording, amortization, and disposal.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
  • Manage cash flow and prepare forecasts in line with policy.
  • Supervise bookkeeping functions including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and compliance of personnel and financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the Finance sector.
  • Proficient in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Strong grasp of budgeting processes and general ledger operations.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the capacity to make informed decisions based on accurate analyses.
