Job Summary:

As a Patient Service Representative at Medicine Journal, you will provide exceptional patient and customer service in our Ambulatory Department. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting patients and the public, answering and screening telephone calls, scheduling patient appointments, and checking patients in and out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a positive and welcoming experience for patients and visitors
  • Answer and screen telephone calls, responding to patient inquiries and concerns
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the patient schedule
  • Check patients in and out, collecting demographic information and preparing medical records
  • Perform filing, balancing charges and collections, and making daily deposits
  • Assist with reports, JCAHO/DNV requirements, and chart audits

Requirements:

  • High School education or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Clerical experience and/or hospital experience desirable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical terminology course desired
  • Training for computer competency
  • Prior EMR experience desirable
