Job Summary:
As a Patient Service Representative Lead at Medicine Journal, you will oversee a team of patient service representatives, ensuring accurate and efficient registration, scheduling, and financial analysis activities for all patients. You will be responsible for initiating activities necessary to comply with managed care contracts and coordinating care for patients. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a clinical setting with some stressful situations.

Responsibilities:
Review accounts with inadequate financial coverage for reimbursement of services rendered
Respond to patient information inquiries and the registration process upon patient's arrival
Maintain and promote an attitude of professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate presentation of self
Interact with third-party payers and other departments
Work closely with other physician offices to keep abreast of updates or changes with regards to scheduling and registration

Requirements:
High School Diploma; minimum 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of self-pay collections, medical terminology, and/or a complete understanding of insurance
Fluent computer skills, including Windows, Word Processing, and Excel
Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with others of multiple ethnic and educational backgrounds
Prior experience with appointment scheduling, patient registration, data entry, cash box, filing, phone system, and deposits

Preferred:
Two years of supervising experience
BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward
