Operations Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Supervisor to join our team at Colony Hardware. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our distribution center.
Key Responsibilities- Operations Management: Prioritize job duties for the entire crew while working closely with departments to fill orders company-wide effectively and productively.
- Team Leadership: Manage the operations team, providing coaching, guidance, and mentorship, resolving any issues that may arise.
- Collaboration: Work with department managers company-wide, including branch management associates, Sales, Purchasing, service and rental, and Operations Management, to ensure warehouse operations are operating in an effective and efficient manner to meet customer needs.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure workplace safety is a top priority and guidelines are adhered to.
- Logistics and Transportation: Manage truck safety, including safe loading, and coordinate with Fleet Manager on truck maintenance and repair.
- Decision Making: Participate in decisions regarding delivery times, route schedules, and other logistics for delivering the product.
- Inventory Management: Assist in fulfilling special orders that require additional attention and perform stock counts to ensure stock levels are accurate.
- Continuous Improvement: Work with Inventory Control and the Maintenance Department to work on the creation of additional storage space in both the main distribution center and the branch locations.
- Quality Control: Recheck all orders for Hardware Spot to determine if they were picked correctly and shipped in the costliest and most effective way.
- Financial Management: Prepare and process UPS and freight bills for outbound shipment, ensuring they are paid and charged to the customer if applicable.
- Education: High school degree or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years' management/supervisory/lead experience in a Distribution environment responsible for warehouse/driver management.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
