Operations Manager Job Description

Overview:

MV Transportation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to provide leadership and direction to assigned operating locations, ensuring the delivery of annual business plans. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling daily operations, adhering to contracting agency policies, and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage on-time performance and driver availability to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Effectively manage call center functions to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through direct contact and outreach programs.
  • Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Communicate effectively with location staff and support team members to ensure alignment and success.
  • Assist in overseeing safety and training programs to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safety culture within the division.
  • Maintain client contact to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Assist with conducting periodic departmental audits to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly to drive improvement.
  • Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in location labor and employee relations activities to foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of management experience in a similar-sized paratransit environment.
  • Experience in scheduling and personnel management, with a focus on training and development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of contractual obligations and company policies to ensure compliance.
  • Trapeze experience is a plus, as is experience managing fast-paced environments.
