Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Inspection Engineer to join our team at TranSystems. As a key member of our National Bridge Inspection Practice, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of complex bridges and evaluating their structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform bridge inspections on complex structures, documenting clear and detailed findings.
  • Prepare concise structure inspection and evaluation reports, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of bridge inspections, including the development of safety plans and cost proposals.
  • Perform load rating analyses, utilizing structural engineering design software and techniques.
  • Participate in bridge design assignments, involving contract plan preparation, specifications, and cost estimates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
  • Completion of the Engineering-in-Training exam is strongly encouraged.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and structural engineering design software.
  • Ability to travel within the continental United States for bridge inspections, with a valid driver's license.
  • Physical ability to perform field work, including working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with engineering design packages, such as MicroStation and AASHTOWare BrR.
  • Structural engineering background and experience with structural engineering design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Rope access experience or an interest in learning rope access techniques.
  • Licensed drone pilot with experience in drone operations.
Work Environment

The work environment will include a mixture of office and field work, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
