We are on the lookout for a Vice President of Sales Operations to oversee our North American market strategy. This role is pivotal in nurturing and expanding relationships with regional managers, agencies, architects, lighting designers, builders, and key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess established connections within the architectural lighting sector to effectively drive revenue growth in collaboration with our regional managers and independent sales representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and lead a regional sales representative team, including significant travel commitments.
  • Provide mentorship to sales professionals, enhancing their cross-selling capabilities and business development techniques.
  • Maintain consistent communication with regional and agency sales representatives, focusing on sales performance, pipelines, and conversion rates.
  • Generate comprehensive reports summarizing regional sales activities.
  • Support regional sales agents in maximizing revenue through strategic engagement with agencies, architects, lighting designers, builders, and other decision-makers.
  • Develop forecasts and implement sales strategies to achieve targeted objectives.
  • Consistently meet or surpass established sales targets.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups on quotations, documenting successes and challenges with relevant insights.
  • Monitor significant projects in the quotation phase to secure specifications.
  • Innovate strategies to drive high-volume specifications.
  • Maintain a focused approach to revenue enhancement while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Identify promising opportunities with substantial ROI while gracefully passing on less favorable prospects.
  • Guide regional managers in overseeing an independent sales representative network.
  • Ensure CSL Lighting remains a top priority for sales agencies, minimizing competition within their offerings.
  • Facilitate regular communication with sales representatives through monthly overview calls with the Business Development Manager.
  • Lead and manage key account activities and communications, fostering new customer relationships.
  • Strategically expand the existing customer base and identify new business opportunities.
  • Engage with customers to understand their evolving needs and assess current partnerships.
  • Build and enhance relationships to boost brand visibility.
  • Conduct research to identify and qualify potential clients, projects, and partnerships.
  • Deliver product presentations and training sessions.
  • Create and oversee national annual business plans to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Enhance distribution presence through displays in lighting showrooms and wholesaler locations as applicable.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on company communications, including new product presentations and training materials.
  • Lead the budgeting and planning for trade shows.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in marketing or business is preferred.
  • 10-15 years of sales experience in architectural LED products.
  • Proven track record in developing, nurturing, and managing client relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a regional sales team.
  • Experience managing an independent sales team effectively.
  • Exceptional entrepreneurial mindset and sales acumen.
  • Strong executive-level presentation, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to close deals successfully.
  • Strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident (no Visa sponsorship available).
