Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our North Dakota team. This role will involve leading geotechnical projects, developing and executing scopes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute geotechnical scopes for moderate to complex projects.
  • Review engineering work and provide guidance to junior engineers.
  • Perform engineering analysis using industry-standard methodologies.
  • Make geotechnical recommendations and prepare engineering reports for senior review.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions to inform project decisions.
  • Perform routine civil engineering tasks, including familiarity with company procedures and operating protocols.
  • Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians within the discipline group.
  • Review drawings and recommend necessary changes to ensure project quality.
  • Identify complex problems and develop effective solutions to resolve them.
  • Manage project teams, including engineering and field support personnel, to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Oversee and train junior staff, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Compile engineering calculations using standard formulas and computer software.
  • Prepare field reports documenting contractors' work methods, test results, and interpretations.
  • Work within established procedures and protocols, aware of risks associated with recommendations.
  • Develop an understanding of Braun Intertec services and market them to clients.
  • Comply with corporate practices, health and safety policies, and complete required safety training.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and 6+ years of experience.
  • Requires Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in North Dakota or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Requires creative and innovative thinking to resolve complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
  • Ability to develop and progress multiple positive client relationships.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Licensing or Certification
  • Valid driver's license and pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check as required.
  • PE Certification.
