Essential Qualifications

The ideal candidate must fulfill the following qualifications:

Entry Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience and a Professional Engineer License; OR a Professional Engineer License with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Agency Specific Requirements:

  • International degrees must undergo Equivalency Evaluation by NCEES.
  • Possession of a Georgia PE license is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in traffic engineering and ITS design is required.
  • Proficiency in traffic analysis and signal operation software is essential.
  • Familiarity with design and maintenance standards is necessary.
  • Demonstrated leadership, management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to innovate and develop new methodologies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and decision-making abilities.
  • Capability to present concepts in public forums.
  • Skill in negotiation and fostering teamwork.
  • Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel statewide, including overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comprehension of departmental policies and operational systems.
  • Knowledge of design and maintenance standards.
  • Experience in developing training programs and traffic control plans.
  • Application of engineering principles in transportation initiatives.
